God delights in having a husband and wife serve Him together. He blessed the joint ministry of Aquila and Priscilla, as He doubtless did that of Peter and his wife and Jude and his.<br/><br/>There are three basic reasons for Christian marriage. The first two can be common to all marriages; namely, for the mutual help given and received and for the institution of family life. The third, however, is peculiar to a Christian couple, for they can receive God’s grace together. This clearly shows the importance to God of such marriages. They provide for God a special avenue of bestowal of His grace upon the shared life and upon humanity. Marriage was instituted by God, not by man. Was it for this reason?
